Title: Dust
October 27, 2009
Posted by: Father
Character: John Richterre
THE DUST FLOATED above me as I slowly blinked my eyes awake. Even as I sat up from the floor the entire room had dust wandering around it even under the darkness of night. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually a neat and tidy person, it's just that I haven't been awake long enough to clean up the entire mansion. I stood up and brushed off my coat as I walked toward the door and opened it. The hallway was dark and I’m sure an average person would definitely not be able to see through its darkness, but I had gone over that blind stage and memorized each and every step I had to take. The mansion never had lights, it never had clarity, it never had a wealthy look, and it had always been eerie. I hated it, but I had no choice because I hated the daylight more than anything and I don’t remember when I had basked beneath it. One of my dreams though, that I couldn’t seem to forget, told me that I had in fact travelled beneath the afternoon sky before; The sun resting gracelessly above me as I walked and walked endlessly. It often made me quite confused and eventually irritated. I made my way down the fairly long flight of stairs, walked more toward the large entrance doors and pulled one open. The moonlight outside was distinct; it vaguely blanketed the entire neighborhood. The mansion resided in the quieter parts of London, much to my liking, and it had always been this way. Only tonight I seemed to have felt something different, something misplaced. I walked composedly toward the gates which were rather far from the mansion itself. As I kept my pace I saw a silhouette positioned outside them, as I drew nearer the silhouette became clearer. It was a girl with tattered clothes, little details I could decipher. When I stopped walking she had already dashed off. I contemplated and ended up thinking rather ideally.
I hate people…It’s true, people are really complicated. Things that confuse me and complicate itself at wits end seem to stab at my nerves easily. It’s not like I hate everything, I have things to like, just too little to fully appreciate or understand. Great, I can’t exactly explain my nature very well since I never actually talk given there’s nothing to talk to or if I ever do try they would misunderstand. All in all the innermost idea is,
I hate misunderstandings, and I surreally do.
I made my way back toward the mansion still contemplating; I’d like to follow that girl because my curiosity and paranoia is starting to kick in. Unfortunately, I’d like to clean myself first. I covered my mouth as I coughed out some dust.
