Title: Fire
November 07, 2010
Posted by: Father
Character: John Richterre
A RECENTLY LIT FIRE has taken its place inside my heart. I’ve never felt so alive, so motivated, and I’ve never adored something so intensely before. As my conversation with Reina waned to a climax. I felt the need to see more of that aggression in the atmosphere. I sorted out all the information I’ve gathered in my mind.
In the middle of Reina’s story I seem to have developed a liking to the lady called Daphne. She is, after all, the single domino that triggered this wondrous mishap. I must thank her when we meet. I didn’t notice the smile that formed on my face as my thoughts collected.
“What?” Apparently Reina noticed it.
“Do away with Aoi. That’s all? No exceptions?” I asked inquisitively.
“Yes! You haven’t been listening at all.” She said impatiently. I ignored the rude assumption.
“Alright then…” my voice softened a bit. “Do you have an idea how you can make that happen?” I asked. Inwardly I am convinced that I really didn’t need any of her ideas, for mine is good enough. I just asked out of politeness. I am a gentleman after all.
I gave her time to think in her seat across mine. My confidence is definitely not unsighted. I had observed that all she had been uttering is a biased and blunt hatred for Aoi. She hasn’t actually thought of or said anything to actually rid of him. She just kept ranting in frenzied measures. The blackouts were the drive to her blind rage, it wasn't care for her beloved Daphne anymore. So tragic and beautiful this triad that drowned in hate is.
“I haven’t really thought about it…” was the reply that I expected.
“That’s fine.” I said with the smile still plastered on my face. I lifted my leg. Positioning myself cross-legged, like an elegant and intimidating man; in which I thought myself to be.
“What better be his greatest enemy, be his greatest friend?” I said and told her the tall and simple tale of our busy plan. The morning passed. The afternoon rose. The daylight danced with the wind. The time crawled too slowly.
“What if you don’t gain his trust?” Reina asked as we made our way out the mansion’s gate. She was wise to consider the backfire of my plan.
“Then it could only end in darkness.” I said, the smile stayed in place but it was no longer a smile.
