Title: Reaching Out
November 02, 2009
Posted by: Granny
Character: Iara Latisha Alves
I was strolling in town today to deliver my music pieces to some old citizen. He phoned me a few weeks ago telling me that he was interested in my work and that he'd pay me up loads of cash. I accepted it because I am in dying need of it.
As I continue to stroll down, my eyes glance at a young couple, they are probably around 17 or 18 years old. The young lady seemed in trouble and it looked like the guy caused it. I won't jump into conclusions though, I'll just let them be. I continue to watch them up to the point that the guy held her arm and they just walked away. Young couples these days, what else would they think of doing but that? As I said before, LET THEM BE.
I take the train, walk and now stand at the old citizen's gate. His place is huge, elegant, and antique. Two gardens on each side were beautifully planted by various breeds of flowers. Tulips. Roses. Irises. They were blooming and lovely. I rang the doorbell and the gates opened. He must've been expecting me. I enter and walk on the stoned pathway which leads directly to his house. Bricks that piled up on top of each other were made to design its walls. I wouldn't call this a house at all. I would call it a castle. The design, the windows, and how it's crafted fit the description of a castle. This old citizen had big cash. I hit the motherload! The jackpot! This is great!
I see him standing on the doorway.
"Good afternoon, Sir. I brought-"
"I know." He cut me off. So impolite.
He may live in a castle, he may live like royalty but his manners suck like hell.
I didn't say another word.
He lets out a hand saying that I should give him what he asked. I handed him over my music pieces and he hands me out an envelope. The cash. I smile and leave.
Back in town again, what else to do? I look around and everyone has a companion. A friend. Someone special. I stare at myself from a shop window and loneliness piles up around me. You're here. I know you are. But... I can't feel you here. I want to feel you here. Why aren't you bulging? Why aren't you giving me signs?
The feeling of loneliness is not nice. It never was. When people look around you and see that you're alone, you'd be conscious. I feel weird. I know that you're here but I still feel lonely. Why? It's your presence. I need you here physically.
I take the same freaking train back home. I step down off the train and feel something disturbing. Like someone was crying for help.
It's there. That voice. So familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time.
IT'S THERE! Without thinking I just ran. I ran but it was strange. This feeling it's like someone is controlling me. I couldn't stop. Strange it is. I feel comfortable as I am being "controlled", I knew it was YOU.
NEARER. NEARER! IT'S NEAR! RUN FASTER! GO! RUN!I continue to run like hell.
STOP!I stop. I pant and breathe deeply. I keep my balance. I look up front and see a girl, A GIRL, lunging at a MAN! A GOD DAMN MAN! What the hell has the world gone to!? What is SHE doing to that MAN?!
FOCUS! DO NOT THINK ABOUT THE NONSENSE YOU THINK THAT THEY WILL DO BECAUSE IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT THAT! FOCUS!But I dont know what to do! Help? YES. How? I don't know.
And BOOM. Here I am on the move again. Running towards the girl who just injured the man. I aim a punch at her but she lunges back. I stand still serving as wall, a barrier to protect the man. I glance at the man. Hey. It's the dude from a while ago. But this girl was not the one a while ago. We pause and I take a look at her eyes. They were beautiful but burning with angst. For some reason behind those burning eyes I sense sadness. The girl then backs away and flees.
Blood. Loss of blood all over the ground. This man was at the edge of dying. Thank God that He had one of his kingdoms near us, the church. I carried this man inside.
DO IT. It's been a long time since you commanded me like this. It feels awesome. I hold the man's hand. Oh God. A man's touch. OH GOD. If ever do something awfully weird and sinful, LORD, please forgive me! Destiny found it's way in me!
STOP TALKING NONSENSE AND JUST DO IT! It may drain out my energy but it's for the best.
Help me here, Your powers I holdGuide me here when this be told:Cure Your creation, new from oldShower him with light like goldLight like the sun did shine. It lasted a few seconds, it was beautiful, it was safe, it was magic. New from old it was. He was safe and not in harm, he was cured and not in physical pain.
He was sound asleep. Still breathing. I sit beside him and watch him in deep slumber. I wait for tomorrow to come. As I do I think again, you're here. Thank you for reaching out to me. Thank you for guiding me and do all that. Silence.
It's the next day and I am starving like hell here! I watch the man twitch and move. He opens his eyes and see me. He realizes that he's still alive.
He better thank God for this. HE BETTER TREAT ME OUT TO BREAKFAST DAMN HIM.
